Welcome to Special Interest Group (SIG) 10's June 2014 issue of Perspectives. My name is Ana Claudia Harten, and I am the Editor of Perspectives on Issues in Higher Education. No, you are not wrong; this column is usually the Coordinator's Column, but the editor is writing it this time around. We have a good reason for that. Traditionally, Perspectives publication has been comprised mainly of invited articles; however, we are pleased to say that more recently there has been an increase in the number and quality of unsolicited manuscripts submitted to Perspectives. Case in point, this current issue, composed entirely of unsolicited submissions, each focused on an important area of consideration for academics. The SIG 10 coordinator, Jennifer Friberg, and I are often responding to emails from educators in communication science and disorders who are seeking information about the Perspectives submission process, and hoping to submit manuscripts for review. Given the increasing number of inquiries, we decided this would be a good opportunity for me to go over the Perspectives submission/publication procedures, including the review process. So, here we go…
