Welcome to summer! By now you have probably wrapped up your main semesters of teaching and you are either teaching this summer or you are off, sitting on the beach, writing your next article or reading up on the latest Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SOTL) literature.
In this issue, we are excited to present an article by Dr. L. Dee Fink, author of Creating Significant Learning Experience (Jossey-Bass, 2003). Dr. Fink contributes this article on the heels of his very successful Short Course and keynote presentations at the November 2009 ASHA Convention. Those of you who attended his talks will recognize some of this material, expanded in this issue. Those of you who missed his talks will want to read his article as you think, or rethink, designing the courses you teach.
