Progressus Therapy is pleased to award its second School Therapy Career Vision Scholarship to Amanda Vought, recent graduate in speech-language pathology from Valdosta State University in Georgia. Three $3,000 scholarships are offered each year to high-performing master’s-level students in speech-language pathology who plan to work in school settings.
Progressus Therapy is offering these scholarships as a way to address the concern about the nationwide shortage of qualified speech-language pathologists who are needed to provide services to 6 million students with communication disabilities in school settings. Don Scheeler, president of Progressus Therapy, says, “The company is taking proactive steps to encourage speech-language pathology majors to select the school setting as their primary place of employment following graduation.”
