Welcome, Division 10 affiliates to this first issue of Perspectives for 2005! I know you’ll agree with me that once again Perspectives Editor, Nancy Robinson has done an incredible job in soliciting articles of interest to all of us in higher education. Thanks, Nancy! In this issue, you can learn about an innovative doctoral program, the supervisory process and use of self-advocacy videos in clinical education, service learning, and coursework in anatomy and physiology. What a wonderful diversity of interests and talents.
I’m pleased to tell you that we now have an approved Strategic Plan for Division 10, thanks to the hard work by the Steering Committee (Kenn Apel, Shelley Brundage, Colleen O’Rourke, Lisa Scott Trautman, and Editor Nancy Robinson) and the able guidance of Stan Dublinski, ASHA National Office. The Plan was approved at the end of 2004 and will be in effect 2005–2007. We have developed the Vision, Mission, and Focused Areas along with strategies, timelines, and implementation procedures. An abbreviated version of the plan is listed below.
