Evidence-based practices are increasingly important for clinical and academic faculty. The following Web sites are provided for faculty to use as resources in practica, coursework, and professional development. As with all Web-based resources, the currency of Web sites is subject to change.
ASHA’s Web site Introduction to Evidence-Based Practices (EBP) is located at www.asha.org/members/slp/topics/ebp/. This is a useful starting place for an orientation to ASHA’s approach to EBP. The Literature Review Sites and EBP Tools contains links to some of the EBP databases and other EBP sites. The ASHA EBP site has a summary of clinical guidelines that resulted from a project by the Academy of Neurologic Communication Disorders and Sciences (ANCDS) to review clinical research relative to adult neurogenic-based communication disorders. The ANCDS section of the ASHA EBP site has a current list of the guidelines/projects that have been completed and where they have been published. The site also has links to three recent articles on EBP published in theApril 2004 ASHA Leader.
