The Council on Academic Accreditation in Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (CAA) is pleased to announce that Susan Flesher is our new manager of accreditation administration. Susan (sflesher@asha.org) will be a primary contact for the programs regarding CAA accreditation.
The Council accredits graduate education programs that provide entry-level professional preparation with a major emphasis in audiology and/or speech-language pathology. CAA and its predecessors began accrediting master’s level programs in 1965. The CAA also accredits entry-level clinical doctorate programs, all of which offer degrees in audiology.
The CAA currently accredits 233 master’s programs in speech-language pathology and 107 graduate programs in audiology (at the master’s and/or doctoral levels). In addition, the CAA has awarded Candidacy status to six master’s programs in Speech-Language Pathology and three entry-level doctoral programs in Audiology. These data reflect graduate education programs in 244 institutions in the United States.
