Hello Division 10 affiliates. In January, I officially step down as Division Coordinator. I want to thank you for your participation in Division 10. I have appreciated your support as we strived to define the role we could play and the contributions we could make to the academic community in communication sciences and disorders. My current and previous colleagues on the Division Steering Committee have brought insights and talents to the table that have resulted in the development of a successful organization that now has nearly 400 members and is still growing.
My tenure on the Steering Committee has been a personally rewarding experience. We have built an organization that is clearly focused on providing faculty with information that can help them do their jobs effectively. We have established mechanisms for communication, provided avenues for exchanging ideas and sharing problems, contributed new information to the literature on innovative, effective teaching, and brought issues of concern to our membership. We have introduced our academic community to leaders in the field of higher education. New partnerships have evolved with other divisions and groups. The relationships we are forging with other divisions will undoubtedly yield positive results for our students and faculty.
